Softley Events adds 18th century wedding venue to portfolio

in Stately home PR, Wedding PR

Softley Events, a luxury weddings, party planning and event management company in Norfolk, is proud to add one of the UK’s finest stately homes to its portfolio after being appointed by Wolterton Park.

Managing only six special events per year at the exclusive North Norfolk venue, Wolterton Hall has been meticulously restored over the last five years by Peter Sheppard and Keith Day.

The magnificent 18th century Palladian Hall is one of the UK’s top 500 stately homes and was inspired by Andrea Palladio, the classical architect from Vicenza. All rooms are set around two beautiful staircases and are typically Palladian.

The Stately Home, lake and 500 acres of woodland and parkland, including East Anglia’s largest walled garden, provides a wonderful backdrop for capturing a couple’s special day.

As an exclusive use wedding venue, Wolterton Hall and estate accommodation sleep up to 64 guests in the luxurious main hall, East Wing and holiday cottages.

Director Sarah Softley and her team have been managing weddings and corporate events for more than 15 years. And look after luxury weddings and events for Sennowe Park, Ketteringham Hall and Dragon Hall in Norfolk as well as organising at-home events.

Sarah (pictured outside Wolterton Hall) comments: “I am so pleased we now have this wonderful new venue to showcase to our brides and grooms.

Wolterton Park is simply stunning and suitable for smaller, intimate weddings as well as larger marque weddings in the grounds. It really is a very romantic venue with its very own 100 feet long and nine feet deep stone balcony – larger than Buckingham Palace! I imagine this will be very popular with guests who can enjoy drinks there, whilst admiring the magnificent views of the lake and park.”

Norfolk, with its picturesque rural landscapes, wide open skies and historic buildings, is a popular choice for marriages, with 4000 weddings held in the county every year.

Sarah, who has extensive experience working with international couples from America, Dubai and Hong King, is looking forward to the wedding and events industry returning to normal – following yesterday’s announcement that full restrictions have not been lifted.

She continues: “The last 14 months have been incredibly difficult for our sector, with most of our wedding bookings cancelled or rolled over to 2021 or 2022. This years’ bookings are up on 2019 – but we are now helping brides and grooms to navigate the new rules because of social distancing requirements.”

Softley Events has seen many couples opting to choose smaller, yet more opulent celebrations for a smaller number of loved ones, as well as noticing a new appetite for parties to bring together families and friends.
