Celebrate Norfolk food & beer with Woodforde’s

in News

Join Norfolk’s only beer sommelier, Bruce Ash, on Friday 27th September at Woodforde’s brewery tap, The Fur & Feather, to discover how to match real ale and food during a delicious six-course supper.

The event is being held on the same day ‘Cask Ale Week’ kicks off – a week designed to celebrate Britain’s national drink at pubs and encourage more real ale fans across the UK.

It also takes place during the Norfolk Food and Drink Festival, a month long celebration of great produce from around the county.

During a mouth-watering six-course menu, guests will learn how to blend the textures, notes, aromas and flavours of beer with food. Head chef, Pete Chapman, has expertly designed a hearty Norfolk menu using the finest local ingredients.

The six courses include:

• Norfolk Dapple cheese soup • Belly of pork with Colman’s mustard rub • Twice baked Binham Blue soufflé.

Each course will be served with a Norfolk ale handpicked by Bruce to heighten the flavours of each dish.

Bruce, who graduated from the London Beer Academy in January to become Norfolk’s only sommelier hopes the evening will be a relaxed and fun way to find out more about food and beer matching:

“With more craft beers available than ever before, people are reaching for a pint of real ale over the wine list. I’m very much looking forward to meeting fellow ale fans as well as people new to ale to share my knowledge of how beer and food can create the perfect palatable combination.”

Join Woodforde’s for what promises to be a great evening celebrating the finest food and beer Norfolk has to offer, set in the beautiful countryside surroundings of Woodbastwick.

7pm for 7.30pm start. Tickets are £30 per head and must be booked in advance – available from the brewery shop at Woodbastwick or by calling 01603 722218. Tickets are limited so please hurry to avoid disappointment!
