Two weeks in the life of…
in News
Having spent two weeks in the life of a PR pro, I now have time to step out of my work experience whirlwind and reflect on my time at Reflection PR.
I joined Suzy and Catrina on Reflection PR’s third birthday; an exciting landmark that saw their hard work and commitment rewarded with the gift of their gleaming new websites launch. Their own pride over the agency was instantly instilled in me as I was given tasks that allowed me to explore all aspects of the PR experience. I soon learnt that Suzy wasn’t going to let me get away with the kind of PR work experience you hear of in the press (exploiting me for my coffee making skills), when she insisted upon making me my coffee instead of visa versa. I was entrusted with tasks such as press release writing, blogging, re-branding, research, client overview meetings (pause for breath as my excitement takes over), brainstorms, twitter accounts, Facebook and so on… This is an experience that as a PR wannabe I could only have dreamed of, excuse the cliché. Yet to blow the trumpet further I not only learnt invaluable lessons through “doing”, but also through the time Suzy took to talk me through why I was doing it. Gaining work experience in a small PR firm allowed me to explore the varied nature of work that PR offers; no day was ever the same. It has also inspired me to drive for a career in a similar agency as I have discovered the level of passion and care Reflection PR take over each client. I will always remember my time at Reflection PR fondly as I take the many lessons I learnt with me. There is just one thing left to say, a massive THANK YOU to Suzy and Catrina for being nothing less than AMAZING!
