Slower paced travel in 2025

in Leisure and tourism, Norfolk Travel PR, Stately home PR, Travel PR

Soft travel is a key travel trend for 2025 with simplicity or spontaneity at the heart of travel rather than rushing around ticking off every busy tourist spot with your phone in hand.

The ideal solution for those yearning a slower paced, feel-good holiday.

So how does this translate into our travel PR plans this year? Here are a few ideas on how you can capitalise on this growing trend:

  • Offer peaceful escapes – Whether lying on a less crowded beach or walking in nature, we all may be enjoying nature at a slower pace this year. So can you include this in your press trip itineraries or encourage your guests to unwind in this way?
  • Consider mental health – Travellers are looking to optimise their mental health and are searching for respite from their busy pace of life. Meditation or yoga retreats might just be the perfect solution.
  • Harness the Joy of Missing Out (JOMO) – Rather than FOMO this year, travellers are seeking time to slow down and reconnect with friends and family – so does the location of your holiday home, hotel or accommodation help to do this? Especially in a relaxed beach or mountain location?
  • Connect with nature – Some of us will be disconnecting from our daily life and re-connecting with nature on our holidays. Calmcation anyone?

We are so lucky in Norfolk that we have lots of fantastic places to explore. Here are three great destinations to switch off your phone and experience some space from your daily life:

  • Holkham Estate – Spanning over 25,000 acres, this well known Estate boast an 18th century Palladian house, a mile long lake, rolling parkland, grazing deer, six acre walled garden and even Wellbeing Walks in the winter. The perfect location for a day visit to take in our wonderful countryside.
  • Wells – Norfolk boasts 45 miles of stunning coastline and Wells is one of my personal favourite beaches with an expanse area of sand to enjoy including pinewoods and forest and a dog friendly section. There is just something about fresh sea air that helps you to immediately feel better isn’t there?
  • Wolterton – Set in 500 acres of flowing parkland with five luxury holiday cottages, The East Wing and a stunning 18th century main hall, this Estate including a beautiful lake, woods and seven-acre walled garden is exclusively available to staying guests. However you can also now have a sneak peak into the Estate with wellbeing days and creative workshops.

How will you slow travel this year?
